MERCY
“For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give His life as a ransom for many” (Mark 10.45). Mercy, diakonia in the Greek of the New Testament, is the Church showing the compassion of Christ to neighbors in need.
Faith Lutheran is committed to supporting this diakonia through the work of the congregation and through partner ministries on the Monterey Peninsula and abroad:
- The Giving Garden, an organic community garden whose produce we give to those in need. The Giving Garden is in need of more volunteers, whether you are part of our church or not. Contact Pastor Harbaugh for more information.
- Our Mercy Fund and Good Samaritan fund, providing tangible support for neighbors and members of Faith in need, respectively.
- Prayer chain
- Support for several Christian ministries of mercy:
- Compassion Pregnancy Center
- The Bridge
- Lutheran World Relief
